Singer Matt Goss kicked off his new gig in style on Mar. 12 at Caesars Palace. Goss and friends hit the red carpet before his much-anticipated first show at The Gossy Room at Cleopatra’s Barge.

Matt Goss works the red carpet.
Celebrity guests at the show included recording artists Mel B, Natasha Bedingfield and Leona Lewis. Reality star Laura Croft was on-hand to support Matt Goss, too.

Harrah's headliner Rita Rudner was cracking them up on the red carpet.
Aside from comedian Rita Rudner (pictured above), Las Vegas favorite and Divas Las Vegas star Frank Marino (Imperial Palace) made an appearance.
A bit of Matt Goss trivia for the ages: His very first song on the stage at Caesars Palace was Stevie Wonder’s “Superstition.”

The "Evil" martini (similar to a strawberry martini, but cooler) was on just about every tabletop at the debut event.
The guest list continued with Mrs. Nevada 2009 (April Schwartz) and Mrs. Las Vegas 2010 (Steph Mackenzie), below.

We spotted this duo with our keen photojournalistic eye in the casino at Caesars Palace.
While the red carpet was certainly glitzy, nothing could compare to the electricity onstage when Matt Goss and his band, as well as his phalanx of scantily-clad dancers, took to the stage, surpassing all expectations for this buzz-worthy new show on the Strip.

Here’s a sweet review of the Chippendales show at Rio Las Vegas in 24/7 Magazine. One of the Chippendales “abvertainers” (not a real word), James Davis, even graces the magazine’s cover.

James owns it, plain and simple.
Love the review, so good going, 24/7. And while we’re on the subject, when was “an energetic and mindless good time” ever a bad thing? (Think “Avatar,” but with more baby oil.)

Life in Vegas can be a drag, and that’s a good thing! On Feb. 25, drag performer Frank Marino unveiled his new stage spectacular, “Frank Marino’s Divas Las Vegas” at the Imperial Palace.
As part of the celebration, Marino received a second star on the Las Vegas Walk of Stars, the first entertainer to get the honor twice. (He now has a star outside the Imperial Palace, with another in front of the Riviera.)

Bonus factoid: Marino does 17 costume changes during the show, each designed by Bob Mackie.
“Divas Las Vegas” is a 75-minute, up-beat show, replete with men-dressed-as-women look-alikes performing tributes to some of entertainment’s most beloved superstars. The show features seven other performers in drag depicting 13 famous divas, as well as music by Rihanna and The Pussycat Dolls.
Marino is the star of the show, performing a Joan Rivers-inspired monologue and narrating the production throughout.

Extra super bonus factoid: Marino has a Las Vegas street named after him which, he jokes, "also goes both ways."
Find out more about this over-the-top show at Imperial Palace. And read this great story about Frank Marino in the Las Vegas Sun.

Mariah Carey lit up the stage at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace with her renowned voice on Feb. 27.

Mariah Carey required a team of Caesars Palace bellmen (not pictured) to carry all her octaves.
Her show at Caesars Palace marked the final stop of her eight-week, 19-city “Angels Advocate” tour.

Yes, these are exclusive photos. That's how we roll.
Billboard magazine ranked Mariah Carey at number six on “The Billboard Hot 100 Top All-Time Artists.”

We can never get enough of “Best of…” lists (especially our own). Two of our favorite shows have been listed among the “Top 10 Shows in Las Vegas.” See the list.
This particular list ranks both comedian Vinnie Favorito at Flamingo and Penn & Teller at Rio Las Vegas among the biggest crowd-pleasers in Sin City. Love ‘em!

Vinnie Favorito cops some 'tude. If, you know, anyone's used the term "'tude" since 2001.
Congratulations to Vinnie, Penn and Teller, for continuing to: 1) keep us entertained, 2) push public decency laws to their absolute limits.

Yes, you made another "Top 10" list. Never gets old, does it, guys?

Singing sensation Matt Goss is coming to Cleopatra’s Barge at Caesars Palace starting Mar. 12, but not before the famed lounge undergoes a bit of a facelift.
On the day of the Matt Goss announcement (Jan. 28), we breached security and brazenly went behind-the-scenes to discover that upgrades were already underway at Cleopatra’s Barge (soon to be called “The Gossy Room at Cleopatra’s Barge”).

Artists add a base coat to an Egyptian figure at Cleopatra's Barge.
Oh, all right, there really wasn’t any security to breach, but let us have our little fantasy, OK?

Someone's been taking the phrase "painting the town red" a tad literally.
Just yesterday, we went back to the soon-to-be-unveiled Gossy Room and got a glimpse of the overhauled Egyptian statue pictured above.

Gold leaf, baby, as only Vegas can do it!
Cleopatra’s clearly got some new bling, all in anticipation of the debut of Matt Goss at Caesars Palace. Find out more!
