Here’s a Vegas room deal you won’t want to miss. Total Rewards loyalty club members can get 25% off rooms at select resorts in the Caesars Entertainment family of hotels for 72 hours (starting March 12, 2012). Check it out.

Caesars Entertainment hotels in Las Vegas include Caesars Palace, Planet Hollywood, Paris, Flamingo, Rio, Harrah’s, Bally’s and Imperial Palace.

Las Vegas Strip

Las Vegas, will you have our baby?

And remember, while certain hotels in Las Vegas which we can’t mention (MGM Resorts hotels) are jacking up resort fees in Vegas, Caesars Entertainment destinations have none. Zero resort fees. Absolutely zip. If you’d like, we’re happy to keep typing it until it sinks in. We have nothing better to do. No resort fees. At all. Get the scoop from our friends at Vegas Chatter.

If you’re not already a Total Rewards member, you can join for free, and you can even sign up online. Once you’re a member, you can even take advantage of the new “Escape to Total Rewards” giveaway, where 90,000 prizes are up for grabs, including Vegas escapes and the opportunity to have this blog make an honest woman of your sister. (Actual results may vary.) Learn more about the giveaway.

Escape to Total Rewards

All right, maybe not 90,000 at this point, since a ton have been given away already, but still, there are plenty left.

Total Rewards members can get room discounts at hotels across the country (up to 35% off) during this 72-hour sale, too. See all the deals and get you some while they last.

Total Rewards Revamp: 90,000 Prizes Up for Grabs

Big changes are coming up for Total Rewards, the premier casino loyalty program of Caesars Entertainment, and we’ve got a sneak preview of what’s ahead.

For starters, the decade-old loyalty program will get a schmanzy new logo.

New Total Rewards logo

This blog is big fan of casino newness.

According to those involved in the logo’s development, the new logo is intended to “capture the energy and excitement of the program, and to illustrate the global network of experiences to which guests have access just by virtue of being a Total Rewards member.” Translation: Schmanzy.

New Total Rewards logo

We're kind of digging it on the black, too.

Starting March 1, 2012, Total Rewards will be unveiling new Total Rewards cards featuring “light trails,” a design element that “reflects the energy, fun and possibility that Total Rewards represents.”

New Total Rewards Card

Robin Kline, whomever you might be, you just had your TR card blinged out.

Oh, like we weren’t going to breach security and share all the new card designs.

New Total Rewards cards

Total Rewards bling, times three.

To kick off the new look and benefits of Total Rewards, Caesars Entertainment will also launch a massive giveaway starting March 1, 2012.

The “Escape to Total Rewards” giveaway will boast a mind-boggling 90,000 prizes. Ninety. Thousand. Where is that “bold” function? That should be bolded.

The “Escape to Total Rewards” giveaway will feature three ways to win, including Instant Win prizes, a Grand Prize Experience sweepstakes and a “Collect and Win” component.

The Grand Prizes include a trip for two to Emerald Casino in South Africa, as well as three “Las Vegas High-Roller Experiences” featuring private XOJET service and four nights at any Total Rewards resort in Las Vegas. This blog loves it some free Las Vegas stuff! Especially the “private jet” kind.

More details about the giveaway will be available soon. Trust us, you’ll be hearing about it. In the meantime, keep an eye on TotalRewards.com for all the latest.

TR magazine

The new Total Rewards look is being revealed in the Spring issue of Total Rewards magazine.

The new iteration of Total Rewards has been a year in the making, and the program itself is receiving an infusion of new benefits and features. Many of the new features won’t kick in until April, 2012, but some of the highlights are worth noting. Remember, these are just a few of the benefits being added to what is already one of the most expansive loyalty programs out there.

Total Rewards members will soon get exclusive access to pre-sale show tickets at many Total Rewards destinations. The new “first-in-line access” means members will get the chance to snag tickets before the general public, which means the best seats in the house even for the most popular shows.

Total Rewards members will also receive members-only pricing at many Caesars Entertainment resort restaurants across the country.

Total Rewards discounts

This was the only photo we could find. You get the idea.

Another new benefit will be that, starting April, members will be able to redeem Reward Credits (sometimes referred to as “Total Rewards points”) for free play at any Total Rewards casino, any day, every day.

Other benefits will include the ability of Platinum, Diamond and Seven Stars members to share their Reward Credits with friends who are also Total Rewards members. Learn more about Total Rewards tiers.

Another great bonus of Total Rewards membership? Members will be able to use Reward Credits to buy into official World Series of Poker events. The last Main Event winner got $8.7 million. (Your results may vary.)

Total Rewards will also offer even deeper discounts at participating retail stores at Total Rewards resorts.

Reap Your Rewards

You don't have to tell this blog twice.

One to watch: Soon, Total Rewards members who qualify will be designated “TR Insiders.” This status will give them access to exclusive events and promotions, select gaming tournaments and dining events organized especially for TR Insiders.

The bottom line? Total Rewards, and casino loyalty programs, will never be the same. Total Rewards was the original, and it’s still the best, and getting even better.

We’ll bring you more news on the rejuvenated Total Rewards and the massive prize giveaway soon. Totally.

Today’s Free Las Vegas Vacation Hook-Up

In what is definitely not a shameless ploy to get more Twitter followers, Southwest Air is giving away five Vegas vacation packages during its “Venture to Vegas” Twitter contest.

Oh, and for the record, there’s nothing wrong with a shameless ploy if it might result in a free Vegas vacation!

fabulous Las Vegas sign

Las Vegas sign photo, you sure do come in handy when we don't have a photo of a Southwest plane.

The giveaway from Southwest is in honor of the company’s 30th anniversary of flying folks into (yay!) and out of (sad face!) Las Vegas. This blog loves it some Southwest, and we have to agree with Southwest’s blogger who says you can just tell when a flight is heading to Vegas, the excitement is palpable.

Southwest has partnered with a number of Las Vegas hotels, including Bally’s Las Vegas, the Stratosphere, Monte Carlo, Hooters and Vdara, so we’re thinking that’s probably where you’ll end up staying if you win. Especially Bally’s, because that’s one of the Las Vegas hotels Caesars Entertainment owns, and you’re currently reading their awesome, completely objective Las Vegas blog. Moving on.

Bally's hotel Las Vegas

Bally's photo, you sure do come in handy when we're plugging Bally's.

Here’s how the contest will go: Follow Southwest on the Twitters. Don’t panic. Twitter is still free. Watch for a riddle each day, then answer the riddle in the form of a photo. Tweet it and use the hashtag #VegasLUV30 so your work can be judged and you might win some stuff. Details here.

You’re welcome, and please learn more about all the Las Vegas hotels in this giveaway. Especially Bally’s. Objectively speaking, of course.

Today’s Free Vegas Getaway Hook-Up

Oh, how we love free stuff here at the Pulse of Vegas blog. Did you notice all the free vowels in that last sentence? Exactly!

Today, we’re passing along the inside scoop about a Vegas New Year’s Eve blow-out giveaway, courtesy of Caesars Entertainment. Caesars Entertainment is the same company that brings you this Las Vegas blog, despite the advice of at least 41 lawyers.

This free-to-enter giveaway includes a prize package of a two-night stay at a participating Vegas hotel of the winner’s choice (check-in on Dec. 30, 2012 and check-out on Jan. 1, 2013–yes, New Year’s Eve next year), a $200 dining credit and transportation to and from McCarran International Airport (motto: “We have special enclosures for smokers. Just deal with it.”).

2012 glasses

Sorry, the prize package is for NYE 2013. But did we mention how free it is? You can still wear your groovy 2012 glasses, too.

That’s a $1,500 value in today dollars. Who knows what it’ll be worth in 2012-2013 dollars!

To enter, just text NYE to 227466. Yes, that’s the whole entry process. You can only enter once. It should take upwards of three seconds. We’ll wait.

Entries must be received by Jan. 1, 2012.

Yes, in case you were wondering, this is all an elaborate scheme to get you into a texting database so the big, bad marketers can hit you with crazy, two-for-one drink specials and other deals. Strike back at The Man with the knowledge you can stop receiving texts at any time by texting STOP to 227466. (We kid. You won’t get offers unless you ask for them. Just text “VEGAS” to the same number.)

Read the wildly amusing small print on the Caesars Palace Facebook page and good luck!

Today’s Free Vegas Show Hook-Up: Mac King

Easily one of this highly-objective blog’s favorite shows on the Las Vegas Strip, the Mac King show at Harrah’s Las Vegas continues to win over audiences with its wit, simplicity and eye-popping magic. Don’t worry, the “eye-popping” thing was just a metaphor.

We just got word that the show is offering a free ticket for those who say the secret term “Fig Newton” (inspired by one of Mac King’s signature illusions) at the Harrah’s box office. This free ticket offer is good for the Oct. 18, 3:00 p.m. show only. Hey, free is free.

Mac King

Long story. Let's just say Mac King is awesome.

Oh, you don’t mind long stories? Then find out what Mac King’s doing in that photo. Read our 11 Alternate Uses for Your Free Hotel Shower Cap.

Enjoy your free ticket, and tell them we sent you. They might take your free ticket back, though, so feel free to keep that on the QT.

Elton John Plays 3,000th Public Show (That’s a Lot)

Renowned singer Elton John celebrated a milestone 3,000 live public performances on Oct. 8, 2011, at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace.

Jot this down, trivia buffs: Elton John’s first-ever public concert was on his 23rd birthday, March 25, 1970, at the Revolution Club in London.

Elton John

The next 3,000 shows should be a piece of cake.

Bonus trivia: 2011 marks the 40th anniversary of Elton John’s Las Vegas debut.

Thanks to the miracle of news releases, we also know Elton John’s 3,000 concerts can be tracked by decade: He performed 616 shows in the 1970s, 537 in the 1980s, 590 in the 1990s, 1,064 in the 2000s and, to-date, 193 in the 2010s.

Congrats to an amazing performer whose success has truly managed to stand the test of time! Find out more about Elton John’s show, The Million Dollar Piano, at Caesars Palace.

If you’d like a shot at seeing the show free, check out the “Elton John Million Dollar Piano Sweepstakes” from Yamaha Entertainment Group, the folks that built Elton John’s piano at a cost of $1.4 million. (They were going to call his show “The $1.4 Million Dollar Piano,” but it just didn’t have quite the same ring to it.)

Million Dollar piano

Yay, free Vegas stuff.

Enter the free sweepstakes on Yamaha’s Facebook page for a chance to win a Grand Prize getaway to Las Vegas including two front row tickets to “The Million Dollar Piano,” a guided, behind-the-scenes tour, a three-night stay at Caesars Palace, airfare for two and limo service to and from the airport. You might also want to take a peek at a Margaritaville Casino-inspired room package being offered by the Flamingo, in honor of the new casino. The package includes two nights accommodations, a $50 dining credit and a $30 gaming voucher. Note: “Gaming” is like “gambling,” just more lawyery.

Don’t Be Alarmed: It’s the Good Kind of Explosion

Cruising by Bill’s Gamblin’ Hall & Saloon the other day, we noticed this eye-catching offer, “Bill’s Comp Explosion Giveaway.”

The details are so straight-forward, even this blog can understand them.

Bill's Comp Explosion

"Explosion" is just a metaphor. Chill.

Just swipe your Bill’s Players Club and you could win one of six $100 prizes given away each day. That’s a pretty good return on the effort required to swipe a loyalty club card. How many people can be vying for these prizes? The odds certainly have to be better than, say, keno. (Oh, yes we did. Hey, we didn’t say it isn’t fun.)

If you’re not already a member, it’s free to join, and new sign-ups get coupon book stuffed with goodies like 2-for-1 deals and discounts on dining, shows and hooch. If you earn $2 (not a typo, although their site says $5, but we checked by phone) in comp dollars within three days, you’ll even get a T-shirt. Have we mentioned how much we love free?

See you at Bill’s, and let us know what you think of Rapid Craps while you’re at it. It’s exclusively at Bill’s.

Total Rewards Launches “Great Race” Giveaway

Total Rewards, the player loyalty program of Caesars Entertainment, has rolled out a new giveaway featuring a Grand Prize of three trips to the winner’s choice of Total Rewards hotels, Total Rewards gift cards and other goodies. This blog loves it some free stuff! Save having to read this blog post and enter now.

One has to be a Total Rewards program member to enter the “Great Race to Rewards Giveaway” and be eligible for the Grand Prize or carload of secondary and Instant Win prizes. It’s free to join Total Rewards, of course, and joining the loyalty program can even be done online. Read more.

Great Race to Rewards

Insider fact: This blog usually makes up the names for these online giveaways. Not this one, but usually. No kidding.

Once you log into the sweepstakes page, you’re automatically entered for the Grand Prize, three trips to any three of the dozens of the destinations in the Caesars Palace family of hotels. And, yes, the winner can choose to come to Vegas three times. Kind of what we’d do. Just saying.

There are tons of other prizes, including trips to places like Lake Tahoe or Atlantic City, as well as a slew of Total Rewards gift cards, which can be used for just about anything (food, drinks, spa, drinks, shows and drinks) at Total Rewards casinos.

“But wait, there’s more!” We always wanted to say that.

For the first time ever, you can get bonus entries (beyond the one-a-day limit) by visiting various hotel Facebook pages for “secret keywords.” Check the official rules for a complete list of participating hotels, because you know damn well this blog is too lazy to do it. It’s pretty much any Caesars Entertainment destination you can think of.

Sweepstakes

We felt like we needed another graphic here. Just move on.

“But that’s not all!” We love that. Thank you for the copy suggestions, annoying late night TV commercials.

Starting July 15, you’ll be able to check in at Total Rewards hotels using your mobile phone for even more bonus entries (up to six a day). Just check in using Facebook or Foursquare, and additional entries will be yours, using some kind of digital voodoo this blog doesn’t even remotely understand.

The “Great Race to Rewards Giveaway” runs through Sep. 30, 2011, so get in on the free shizzle. Hey, we already used the word “damn,” so “shizzle” shouldn’t rock your world too much. Chill out, it’s the Internet.

Have fun and good luck.

Paris Launches Manilow-Inspired Facebook Giveaway

In honor of Barry Manilow’s new album, “15 Minutes,” his first album of original material in a decade, Paris Las Vegas just launched a new sweepstakes on its Facebook page.

It’s free to enter, and someone’s going to snatch (in case you forgot which blog you’re reading) a two-night stay at Paris Las Vegas, dinner for two at Le Provencal, a $200 gift certificate to Paris Spa by Mandara and two tickets to see the incomparable Barry Manilow.

Barry Manilow sweepstakes

We're pretty sure you can't use your phone's camera at the Manilow show as these people are doing, but let's not get bogged down in details. It's a giveaway!

Barry Manilow’s show is one of the best on the Strip at the moment, and even impressed certain sometimes-jaded Las Vegas bloggers who may not have entirely been a Barry Manilow fan before seeing his show. Without mentioning any names.

The show is a lavish stage production, and we used to guarantee audience members would know the words to every song. Now, with the release of Manilow’s new album, the show’s song list is growing: “Bring On Tomorrow” has already been added to the show, “15 Minutes” and “Train Wreck” will be making their debut soon, insiders say.

Barry Manilow

We got this Barry Manilow pic at an event for his charity, the Manilow Music Project, that distributes musical instruments to Las Vegas schools.

Read more about Barry Manilow’s new album in Vanity Fair.

Enter the “15 Minutes” sweepstakes and good luck. You can see Barry Manilow live at Paris Las Vegas. Find out more. Hint: It’s the one with the Eiffel Tower thingy out front.

The other thing that makes this Vegas freebie so much fun (aside from the free part) is everyone’s a winner. It says so right on the thing.

The real “Press Your Luck” slot machine can be found in casinos up and down the Strip in places like Imperial Palace, Flamingo, Rio Vegas and, of course, inside Planet Hollywood. How do we know? We used the handy Caesars Entertainment Slot Finder Thingy. (Not the actual name.)
