Crush Your Appetite: Tequila Bar and Grill at Bally’s
You’ve probably walked by the Tequila Bar and Grill at Bally’s Las Vegas before. It’s tucked away, just off the casino floor, next to the Sidewalk Cafe. Which is also kind of tucked, actually.

Tequila Bar and Grill doesn't need to shout "Look at me!" It's got tequila.
There’s nothing too flashy about the Tequila Bar and Grill. The atmosphere is casual, and there’s plenty of room between the tables. This blog is into that because it tends to make for jucier conversation. There’s some Latin music playing, too, adding to the festive ambiance, at just the right volume.
Perhaps not surprisingly, one of the draws of the Tequila Bar and Grill is its bar, overflowing with more than 60 kinds of tequila.

Now, do we have your attention?
Today’s gratuitous tequila fact: Tequila is made from the blue agave plant, so technically, it’s a vegetable. Note: It’s possible we made that last part up.
Actual tequila fact: Mexico has claimed the exclusive international right to use the word “tequila.” Seriously.

Not a tequila person? No worries, try a Bloody Mary. They're pretty.
Beyond the libations, including margaritas and daiquiris and Mexican beer, Tequila Bar sports a robust menu with dozens of Mexican favorites, like the nacho platter below that weighs approximately as much as a sports stadium.

Being a server at Tequila Bar requires an exceptional amount of upper body strength.
Honestly, anyone who calls “El Jefe’s Nachos Grande” ($14) an “appetizer” should be briskly slapped about the face and neck. The dish is piled high with fresh-fried corn chips, chicken or beef, refried beans, cheese sauce, queso fresco, jalapenos, tomatoes and green onions. It’s a Vegas dining experience you won’t soon forget, so bring along a football team to help do some damage to this daunting dish.
Also among the hearty Mexican-inspired offerings on the menu are tacos and quesadillas, tortilla soup, “Loco Bueno Chicken Wings,” fajitas and enchiladas.

The usual suspects at a Mexican joint.
You’ll also find traditional bar fare, like sandwiches, salads, burgers and appetite-crushing smoked baby back ribs, perfect for snacking and sharing.

In the case of the ribs, emphasis on "sharing."
There are plenty of values to be had at Tequila Bar, too, including $2 margaritas, $2 tacos, $2 tequila shots and $2 drafts (Miller and Modelo beer).
Next time you’re at Bally’s Vegas, and having a craving for Mexican food or hooch made from plants, think about a stop at Tequila Bar and Grill.

We know how you are.
Bonus, last-ditch tequila trivia effort: The practice of drinking a shot of tequila with salt and a slice of lime is sometimes called “training wheels.”

Blogging is so much more fun than having a job. Yum.
