“Best Desserts in Las Vegas” Get Halloween Bling at Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace
We’ve been trying to figure out a way to commemorate Halloween in Las Vegas, 2012.
It was a toss-up between: 1) sharing photos of a figurative buffet of half-naked, intoxicated people on The Strip dressed as sexy nurses, sexy cats and sexy pirates, or 2) sharing photos of an actual buffet.
In the end, we decided Vegas has the sexy part year-round, so today we’re hitting the buffet! The Bacchanal Buffet at Caesars Palace, to be specific, which was recently awarded the designation of Best Desserts in Las Vegas by Vegas Seven magazine. No, really. Then again, this is no ordinary buffet. For starters, it cost $17 million to build. No, really, really.

Bonus points for Halloween flair!
There were probably other Halloween flourishes at the Bacchanal Buffet, but this blog tends to make a beeline to the dessert station (one of nine open cooking stations), so that’s what we’re sharing. If you don’t like desserts, we’re not sure you and this blog can be friends.

These ain't your grandpa's candied apples.
Credit for the delicious offerings at Bacchanal’s now-award-winning dessert station goes to Caesars Palace Executive Pastry Chef Carlos Salazar and resort chef Dyan Ng, as well as the Bacchanal Buffet’s Executive Chef Scott Green.

We considered diving headlong into this Halloween-themed "Blood Orange" gelato, but we've spent enough time in the company of hotel security, thank you.
One of our favorite aspects of the dessert station is its variety of old-school candy. Yes, this blog has very sophisticated culinary standards.

"Pumpkin" is a fruit. "Corn" is a vegetable. Even in parentheses, this is the best-tasting health food ever.
We suspect a good deal of the buffet’s decorative touches are edible. You go first.

This Rip person has a lot of signs with his name on it around Halloween. Weird.
What else did we see that we probably didn’t eat because we have so much self-control? (Hint: Don’t believe everything you read on the Internet.)

We're only human.
Oh, all right, here’s a photo of something not at the dessert station. Something botanical experts refer to as “a giant-ass pumpkin.” And trust us, we couldn’t say that if experts didn’t use that term. We are a corporate blog.

They actually grow just like this. Amazing.
The frosting on our proverbial Halloween cupcake was, as we were departing the Bacchanal Buffet, bumping into two hotel guests who seemed to be embracing the Caesars Palace experience.
We followed Pete and Mary Ann to the hotel pool for a photo op. (Happy belated birthday, Pete!)

Behold Canada's most valuable export: Peculiar, yet entirely awesome, people.
Have a decadent, calorie-rich Halloween!
And please send your sexy nurse photos. For, you know, blog research.
