Nevada Wild Fest, touted as “Southern Nevada’s Music Festival & Fair,” begins today (Oct. 12, 2011) at the Henderson Pavilion, and runs through Oct. 16. Opening night festivities will be hosted by Holly Madison, star of “Peepshow” at Planet Hollywood (as well as this blog’s daydreams).
The event features a carnival, haunted houses, zip-lining, a “kids zone,” vendors, a beer garden, wine tastings and tons of live entertainment.
But even with all those diversions scheduled, one of our favorites is the DockDogs. Dogs (and their owners) have a blast catching big air in this fun, competitive sport. We attended a DockDogs event, and there are few non-gambling activities in Vegas that can hold a candle to running, jumping, flying, splashing dogs.
Here’s the schedule of DockDogs events scheduled throughout the duration of Nevada Wild Fest.
Nevada Wild Fest includes free and ticketed events, so make sure to visit the official site for details. Bonus Nevada Wild Fest awesomeness: 100% of the net proceeds of the event will be donated to the Lili Claire Foundation, a nonprofit that supports special needs children.
Tell the flying dogs (and Holly) we sent you.
