Susan Boyle’s Got Talent, Donny Osmond’s Got Heart

This week at Flamingo Las Vegas, a very talented performer got to live out her dream. Appropriate, since Susan Boyle became a worldwide phenomenon with her stunning performance of “I Dreamed a Dream” on “Britain’s Got Talent.”

Oh, come on, let’s watch the 100-million-views-plus video again.

On Oct. 17, 2012, Susan Boyle joined Donny Osmond onstage during the Donny & Marie show for a duet, “This is the Moment.”

Medical fact: Holding hands with Donny Osmond may induce swoons.

Sharing the stage with Donny Osmond was a dream-come-true for the shy performer, since she considers him one of her “all-time idols.”

Boyle followed up the duet with a solo number, “Who I Was Born to Be.”

Susan Boyle's performance was "Les Awesome."

Boyle’s voice was, as expected, amazing, although she showed some trepidation, which Donny Osmond picked up on, and the seasoned Osmond served as Boyle’s cheerleader, proving assurance and helping her win over the crowd. By the end of her solo, there wasn’t a dry eye in the house.

The evening marked the first time Boyle has performed in Las Vegas. Let’s just say there was a lot of love going on at the Flamingo that night.

Las Vegas is a big fan of dreams coming true.

Osmond and Boyle’s collaboration extends beyond their poignant moment onstage. They recorded two songs together for her new album, “Standing Ovation: The Greatest Songs From the Stage,” which will be released Nov. 13.

    Love SuBo :)
Looking forward to the new album – although the best song ever is still the one she did on Britains Got Talent – I Dream a Dream… Love it :-)

Susan captures your heart wherever she goes. Wish I could have been there to see this special moment in her life in person. I hope this will not be the first time she sings in Vegas. She has a huge fan base in the U.S. that cannot get enough of listening to her beautiful voice or chuckling over that contagious laugh of hers. Donny was wonderful with her. I don’t know how she managed to find the courage to sing next to her childhood idol. Bravo, Susan and Thank You Donny for giving her such a warm welcome back to the U.S. Their two voices blend beautifully together. :-)
