McFadden’s Irish Pub Shutters Abruptly at Rio Vegas

This one caught us by surprise. McFadden’s Restaurant and Saloon, a mainstay at Rio Las Vegas, announced its closing suddenly on Dec. 5, 2011.

A curt message on the restaurant’s official site kind of sums it up.

Unceremonious, much?

The restaurant also posted a message on Twitter, saying only, “Sad day today we are officially closing our doors – thank you Vegas for 4 years of shots shows & memories.”

We visited McFadden’s recently, and business seemed to be relatively healthy, so we’re not sure what’s up.

You'll be missed, only thing we really liked on the menu.

We look forward to seeing what’s next for this primo, just-off-the-casino-floor space at Rio Las Vegas.

In the meantime, there’s no shortage of places to get green beer on the Las Vegas Strip.

In Vegas, if you remember the color of your beer, you're doing it wrong.

We would tell you where those places are, but that would take actual “research” and “effort,” and those things clearly aren’t happening in this blog anytime soon.

Sorry to hear of your untimely demise, McFadden’s!
